Hi Chaps, here's my latest, a 1942 dated R.S.S. Is this a late production 'tropical' buckle? The colour looks olive/brown/green. Certainly not field grey. The pics are with & without flash to try to give a good idea of the colour,

Richard, for me just a Heer buckle with a different shade of green, at the moment there is no proof that this shade was exclusively for DAK buckles, but mate that's just my MO

Hi Ben, yeah for me it's too late for DAK. I was thinking more Italy, Greece etc the warmer Med climate. Though, I must admit I do like the odd coloured buckles

On a Luftwaffe buckle I would call it tropical but on a Heer it needs a web tab before I consider it tropical.
