    Default assistance please, fake buckle?

    Hi,
I'm Menno from Holland, and was offered this buckle.
I read the thread on fakes and am still not sure if this is the real thing. The rope around the eagle seems very wide, and not regularly. The letters are very detailed and sharp, also the wings of the eagle. What do you think? regards and thanks very much.
ps sorry for the English if not correct.

Hi, and thanks for the quick response!
I just send the seller a mail to say I want it.
It was because of the rope's/cable's I thought it was a fake,
they looked like far a part to me compared with some other picture's. Can I ask what the value is in the UK, or is it not done
to talk about money on the forum.

Thanks again, it helped me a lot.
    regards Menno

Looking on dealers sites will give you a good idea of the current market value, but it would less for a private sale

Hi Menno, blimey You're a lucky chap. These name/unit tags are quite rare on kit. All German kit was supposed to have these tags especially pre war; but very few later items have them. As for the unit it looks like 16 E. (Pz. Abw.)/L.R. S.I.? Not sure but something to do with Panzers, Cheers, Richard.

    16 Ersatz Panzer Abwehr /Infanterie Regiment 31.
16 Anti tank unit in the Infantry Regiment 31.
Or in case L.R Lehr Regiment - training regiment
