Default Belt end stamp: help with identification?

Another of my recent Stalingrad relic purchases is this neatly stamped piece of belt leather. It's shrunk down and hardened to a potato chip-like state but the stamping is pretty clear to me and thats what makes it collectable. Now as I know nothing about belt manufacturers I thought it'd be cool to find out what I can about the belt if possible.

The '1939' is obvious, I think the manufacturer is 'H-ARLD'? and is the partly obscured stamp at the bottom the city of manufacture? It ends with "BERG"

Any help would be much appreciated so I can add some more history to this already historical piece.

    Cheers
    Glenn

Glenn, this witness of a terrible occurence belonged once not to a belt, but to a belt buckle!

It is a piece of a leather support tab wich hung once most probably on an aluminium Heer buckle by the maker Heinrich Arld / Nürnberg. Try a search through this forum and you will find some pieces for comparison.

    Guido
