Hi Rob, just had a look at both my HA's markings with an eyeglass & it looks like the 3 in the 43 lays over the top of a 2. Probably they didn't want to waste money making new dies; but just retooled the old ones with the new date. Are yours the same?, Cheers, Richard.

Hey Richard! I'll have to have a look. Off hand, I don't think mine is like that....but I'll give it the go over!
    Cheers!

Hi Rob, I've just looked at the photo's of Bens that at the top of the tread & it's same as mine with the 3 over the top of the 2. You can just see the bottom part of the 2 poking out beyond the 3, cheers, Richard.

Hi Rob, Nice one. I noticed it because I was going cross eyed trying to figure out if it was a 2 or a 3 and of course it's both!!! I wonder if all the HA '43 dated buckles are like that, Cheers, Richard.

Be interesting to see if any other members have examples of both styles, Cheers, Richard.
