Hi Schnapps and welcome to the forum, this is quite a common thing actually, the eagle itself can be double stamped or the makers mark and also the oval mark on the leather support tab, I have enclosed an example of a double stamped buckle by FriedrichTurch, I will see if i have any more, I am sure other guys will post examples if they have them, I am sure Rob Lachance has one

I did have a double stamped RAD but sold it a little while back! These are interesting pieces....goes to show that mistakes were made back then just like they are today!

Aye.....Yes....now that you mention that - I think I do have a double stamped tab (not a double stamped buckle though)....Let me have a looksee!

Here's the Heer belt and buckle that I remember now....the tab is double marked!

Hey Guys! I had forgotten that I do have a "defective" buckle. Here's a '40 dated Heer buckle made by R.S.S......but have a look at where the maker mark is! It was obviously put in upside down!
