    Hello so today after a very long time i went to the flea market
    First thing that got my attention was this belt buckle and i bought it
    I think it's original but i also want an expert's opinion
    It is repainted

    Looks like an honest Heer example, i'd be tempted to strip that paint off it though!..

    Indeed that's your choice, but i think it'd look better without a layer of modern paint!...

    Judging by the pitting etc. it's a repainted relic indeed, strip the paint and you'll have a nice displayable relic buckle

    From the eagle I was thinking Schmole & Comp, Menden but very hard to place in that condition, have a look around the catch for what looks like a Xmas tree, the prongs may have been replaced at some point also.

    i can't see any marks there Ben i will try to remove paint and then do the "Lemon juice method" for rust and then hopefully i see if there's any mark
