sorry, im still trying to figure out how to do it Ben,new to the forum sorry, but ill manage
I hope they are not fake Ben..
The top two pictures show the black one with belt. I have been told that it was from Kriegsmarine...Its been kept in pretty good condition i would say..
The bottom ones are front and rear view of the one of the buckle only of silver color. Is this one regular Wehrmacht infantry?
Could you please give some info on their history?...
Thank you.
The steel one looks like a late war Overhoff made made buckle, steel buckles were in service from 1940 to 1945. The order came out in 1939 to use steel instead of aluminium, the aluminium wore down quickly and was not as robust as the steel and the steel buckles were cheaper and easier to manufacture. Aluminium buckles were in service with the Wehrmacht from 1935 to 1939 (there some 1940 dated examples but not alot). Can you get me a rear shot of the steel buckle to confrim the maker? The aluminium one is a bit worn to identify to be honest. For some reason they called the blue buckle KM buckles but in reality it is believed they were just late war buckles, I would not class anything KM unless it has the KM eagle stamp on it, but that is my opinion.
Ben
The steel buckle is by Overhoff, here is a silver one for example, look at the eagles head and the ears on both buckles
Ben
Just for a tip, have a search through the M4 makers list and look at the aluminium Heer buckles in there, compare the "G" with yours, it is quite distinct and you may find your maker
Ben
Thanks a lot Ben!
