A very interesting buckle having been posted by Ralph and crikey, what a superb example of a Wehrmacht Heer !!
The interest lies in the SHD (Luftschutz) buckle by GB and which is often seen with a "forties" number stamp under the pin shroud. There was the tin pot theory that this number was production run related rather than year of production, however by the buckle shown by Ralph, not so.
Great buckle Ralph.
Regards,
David
Thank you David!
There is actually a "41" stamp there, just difficult to see in the photo.

Thanks Ralph
Without being in any way patronising, great to see a "good" example of any buckle and your GB WH with the leather tongue is outstanding to say the least. As Ben knows, Wehrmacht buckles offer no interest whatsoever to myself, although laziness on my part has not until now correlated the GB under pin shroud date number to that shown on an attached leather tongue.
Laziness and Mea Culpa.

David
