    Hello and welcome, same info as per the FB comment, top one Gustav Brehmer, now I have better pics IMO the second one is a worn Dransfeld made buckle, look at this one and compare the lettering

    Thanks Ben for the quick research. I've been looking all morning trying to figure that out. I think you are right when you compare the lettering. The guy I got this from said his buddy's dad picked it up off the battlefield. So that may be why it's so worn and beat up, but if not still a good story. Same guy told me to join this forum, glad I did.

    You will learn lots here if you want to. In 1939 the Germans gave an order to us steel rather than aluminium, one they wanted the alloy for aircraft parts and secondly the steel lasted much longer as it was stronger
