Can´t we just get back on track? It is becoming a mud fight

The gates of hell were opened and we accepted the invitation to enter" 26/880 Lance Sgt, Edward Dyke. 26th Bn Northumberland Fusiliers , ( 3rd Tyneside Irish )

Thought shall be the harder , heart the keener,
Courage the greater as our strength faileth.
Here lies our leader ,in the dust of his greatness.
Who leaves him now , be damned forever.
We who are old now shall not leave this Battle,
But lie at his feet , in the dust with our leader

Thx all for yr insights, and compliments as well, thank you very much ;-) And sorry for coming off a bit dejected on the initial response... I think this is special, it may not be SS or some rare thing, but to me it is a first rate Third Reich item, the Eagle/Swastika scream Nazi Germany, at war. And the provenance of the item, in the D Day area, that part of the war, items can't hardly have any more significance (to me, for personal reasons) than that.
Not to mention it seems extremely well marked, although maybe this is a common maker, I wouldn't know.

for anyone to complain about it really needs to get out more and drink less coffee.
Touché there, truer words hardly ever spoken.
But I apologize, again. I don't know what got into me? Maybe it's the moonphase, cabin fever? Usually I'm nicer than this ;-)
Sorry all, and I do hope for a certain level of camaraderie here, maybe in time.

No harm no foul, we all have our issues in life and good and bad days/moods, lets just try to stay positive, friendly, helpful, and understanding!! besides we get enough drama with our wives and kids lol.
Lovely belt and buckle set

A very decent belt and buckle. The wear on the prong holes may also reflect the wearer in different clothing and with or without field gear. Consider the wearer may have used the belt walking out, with a sidearm, with full field gear, with an overcoat or camo jacket. I'd say it is a good war time worn item and you should be proud of it. Now build it out with some other field gear and take some more photos as you progress. NH

By the way...what's in that pebble finish holster that belt and buckle are sitting on?
