Hello. I have seen a few of these silver 60mm NSDAP buckles over the years. Bill X picked up a silver 52mm brocade belt size buckles in 2012 and I got one at the Gottlieb's auction a few month later. These were the first ones I had ever seen in this size.

Jeff Clark who wrote a book on Political uniforms and Wilhelm Saris both said there was no reason for silver political buckles. The general feeling is the buckle are original but unfinished or have had the paint removed. If you look close at your buckle you will see some faint remains of gold finish. It is still a very nice buckle and I see dealers asking 2-3 times what a gold one sells for.
