Hi Paul, bit of a bitser buckle really mate, the buckle maker is Hermann Aurich, look at the eagles head, very distinct. The prongs look to have been replaced at some point, prongs like this (one reversed) are normally found on Berge & Nolte buckles or fake buckles. A tab has been resewn on at some point and is not an Aurich tab and has been sewn on the wrong way around. If need anymore info mate let me know

Ben that's great mate , so someone has really messed around with it but the actual buckle is an original Aurich , some good news at least !! It came in with some other stuff most of which was okay !

    cheers

Yes Paul, buckle is original Aurich, the tab is original but belongs to another maker, when this was done is a guess really! You could look at the stitching and weave and see if it is period done or post war. The tab is dated 1937 which would have gone on a aluminium buckle not a steel one, its also named to Iserlohn (if you look carefully you might be able to read the maker name also) whereas Aurich was based in Dresden

BTW at work at moment or I would have posted a Aurich buckle for you, will do it later

Also the tab would probably have come from a Linden & Funke buckle, there are a few Iserlohn makers but this was the most common
