    Shouldn't the metal one have a belt with a metal hook? ........ nevertheless, I'm sure there was a lot of mixing & matching going on at the time.

    What do you mean, Dan? I'm not quite following you...

    When Gary and I cleaned these, we made sure to keep the buckles with the belts we found them on.

    I think Dan means technically the buckles should be switched. Aluminum buckle with aluminum catch and steel with steel. But really it doesn't matter. It is great the items were saved. I bet a lot of great stuff is thrown away as our WWII vets pass away.
