WWII German belt with badge.

Article about: Hey guys. could anyone please rtell me about this belt and the badge on it. clasp has an "S" on the end. What does the badge mean? Any help would be great. Thanks

    Hi, they are both nice original items.

    Heer (Army) belt and buckle with a Kriegsmarine (Navy) Minesweepers war badge.

    A lot of veterans would attach badges/medals to belts, and then bring them home as trophies.

    what kind of insurance should I get for this?
    what would it go for in auction?
    Don't want to sell it but good to know it's value.

    Insurance always needs to be a bit higher than retail value.

    Here in the UK, I would say £300, not sure of values in NZ.

    I was told it used to have 5-6 badges on it but the guys kids had played with the belt for years and didn't know
    what happend to them.
    In the 50's - 60's.
    Shame.
