    A nice buckle!

Rob, why do you think it is late war? It looks like aluminium to me?!

Thanks for your comments gent's. Much appreciated.
It's of Aluminium construction so I would think pre to early WW2 but I may be incorrect.
    Thanks again,
    Dave

    Hi all,

A very nice injection-molded aluminum HJ by Schröder and, I believe, circa 1936-1939. These are scarcer than their stamped counterparts and were only produced for a short period by Schröder and M4/38, Richard Sieper & Söhne. If memory serves, the injection-molded aluminum by Sieper is a tad harder to find than those by Schröder. I’m sure Chad will chime in here if he comes across this thread. Here is my example for comparison.

    Best,
    Adam

thanks for sharing, as Adam has already said, the injected aluminum buckles are far less common than their die struck counterparts.. I agree with Adams time line as well, I think that Rob maybe took a quick glance at this buckle and thought it was an injected zinc Hj.. I have seen quite a few dealers make this mistake as well based on the injection molded construction.. there were only two makers who produced these.. Schroder and Seiper as stated, but Assmann made aluminum injected prototypes! , but never went into production.. who knows why, maybe the injected types came out on the tail end of the aluminum buckle time line.. maybe this is why we see so few ..? speculation on my part

Very informative thread guys! My bad on the late war assumption. Lighting and the back construction threw me off. My mistake!
    Cheers!
