The nice Post lady finally stopped by today. I missed one of these buckles a few months back, but recently found this one for an excellent price and the condition is much better. Must say the maker mark is tricky to get a good pic

Is it a Nickel over Brass ?

I hold also one from this maker but with different construction catch . My is a nickel over steel :

Thanks Markus. I did look at your example prior to purchasing. Looking at the catch your buckle is an earlier version - correct. Not exactly sure of the metal materials on mine, perhaps others here know

it looks like nickel on brass.you can see on the reverse the brass showing.
