Thanks, Ralph! I'd love to get one of those Kremp buckles. They were found in some numbers in a German schoolhouse. I'm fairly certain that some HJ buckles (I have no idea how many) were also found by someone, though, because I've seen one other with a serial number which is about 20 away from mine.by rbminis

Thanks, Jeff! Now the hunt begins for unissued aluminum and zinc HJ buckles. I'd love to get my hands on one of those Kremp buckles or any zinc with all of the original silvering.

By the way, the buckle is nickel over steel if anyone is wondering about that. I wasn't sure at first if it would that or solid nickel.
