strange Youth buckle
Hello all together,
wanna show You a strange belt buckle found in the attic in Germany. It was still bound on DH/HJ short trousers. Of course it is selfmade by someone, but it is a piece of its time, probably made from a father for his son. The leather belt is just a little stiff and You can see and „feel“, that it was put together back then and also was worn.
Hope You enjoy!
Best regards, Thomas

Re: strange Youth buckle
Well, considering these answers I will interview the finder again. Esspecially the leather really feels old, so it's hard to believe to be modern made. What I have to admit is, that the design itself has a kind of modern look, what also was confusing me at first sight. But with respect to the art deco style of the 1920s I find it not impossible to be made in the 1930/40s ... On the other hand it was a gift, so no great deal if not original. But did not want to fool somebody here. If someone here has seen a similar, definately modern piece, just tell and may be show.
Best regards, Thomas

Re: strange Youth buckle
The buckle is not a TR item, I have never seen any period piece like this in all my years of collecting

Re: strange Youth buckle
It doesn't take all that long under the right conditions for leather to dry out and stiffen...
