Actually, it doesn't mean "before fight" and has nothing to do with pre-military training. No "NAQ....M" there either; the seventh photo is simply upside down.
The slogan is "Vorleben - Vorkämpfen" and roughly translates as "To set an example in living and in fighting". Vorkämpfen can also be translated as leading the way in/pioneering a cause.
The motto was used by the ethnic German community in Romania and also featured on their sports badge.
The "L.Z.M." marking on the clip means "Landeszeugmeisterei" (the equivalent to the RZM).
I cannot comment on authenticity.
Any opinions, original or not?
Hello,

An extremely unusual and somewhat rare buckle, albeit highly specialised and with all due respect, one which does not fit at all well in the DJ/HJ sub forum.
Deutsche Volksgruppe in Rumänien and forget all this nonsense about "Einsatzgruppen" which some dealers would like us to be believe.
I cannot recall the buckle being discussed on the Forum before, however I am more than likely wrong in this respect.
Attributed to a nationalistic "homeland" training/defence group (Wehrmannschaften) and worn in the 1940's, however the construction of the buckle is most interesting. I have seen these buckles in die stamped nickle silver and also, die stamped brass with a nickle silver plating. All however with a distinctive angular "C catch" and a diminutive by diameter, pin shroud.
Rare and original buckle and the accessories with the LZM markings are fabulous.
Regards and best wishes,
David
