    Has anyone seen one like this before? It seems it's a Heer box drilled to solder afix a Luftwaffe roundel.

    It looks like the four tabs that afix the roundel to the box have been broken and they have done this as a repair, I will have a look tomorrow, on nights at moment, pics not that good on my smart phone

    This might help Ben,
    The slots for the attachment of the roundel are in the correct location for a heer buckle, not for a Luftwaffe buckle.

    I would presume if this is the case that the buckle could be made up of a Luftwaffe roundel and a Heer box? It is not factory applied

    That is my take as well, question would be of period of application. I suppose it stands a chance of being done during the period?
    Not out to purchase this piece, merely seeking clarification.

    The solder does look old as it's gone quite dull, i suppose it could be a field repair but no way to tell for sure.

    Very hard to know Tom when this was done, could be period, could be last year!
