Interesting buckle. I know I have see that catch before. I think it was on a DLV buckle. Your might have been made when the DLV was becoming the Luftwaffe. They might have made a few nickel Luftwaffe buckles before the switch to aluminum. First one I can remember seeing.

That is a very unique early droop tail first time I have seen that type of catch but agree with Kirby let Ben weigh in. timothy
NIce buckle Ivan, to me the catch looks like a Assmann catch but a disfigured one. I have also seen another like it but cannot remember what it was on

The catch almost has the appearance of a piece of rod that was hand bent and flattened on the ends to repair one that was lost.... Excellent buckle in any circumstance!

Yes, I have received my buckle and effectively as Markus said, it is made of aluminum, except the prongs and te post prongs sleeve
