Looks a nice nickel droptail Luftwaffe buckle with repaired catch, I never see another before

Interesting buckle. I know I have see that catch before. I think it was on a DLV buckle. Your might have been made when the DLV was becoming the Luftwaffe. They might have made a few nickel Luftwaffe buckles before the switch to aluminum. First one I can remember seeing.

That is a very unique early droop tail first time I have seen that type of catch but agree with Kirby let Ben weigh in. timothy

NIce buckle Ivan, to me the catch looks like a Assmann catch but a disfigured one. I have also seen another like it but cannot remember what it was on

The catch almost has the appearance of a piece of rod that was hand bent and flattened on the ends to repair one that was lost.... Excellent buckle in any circumstance!

are you shure that is nickel silver ???????

I know it as Aluminium and also this catch charakters on early buckles from Dr.Franke ...........

In my opinion it is not a Assmann !

Yes, I have received my buckle and effectively as Markus said, it is made of aluminum, except the prongs and te post prongs sleeve
