Hi Alex,
Unfortunately, that Luft buckle matches up to post #43 here on the fake thread...and the example here came from one of the larger militaria dealer's website.
Fake Luftwaffe Buckles

Dear Ben Hello
are You sure ? The only thing I am not really comfortable is the prongs ( one side cut out )
maker mark, Who knows ?
single rivet, too odd to fool ....
construction, details, finish are really nice
anyway, I found it at MAX and paid nearly nothing just to study it
Thanks for Your comments and of course Welcome to Fake Gallery
Alex.
It is indeed a fake, and you can also see it in Angolia's book. He describes it as genuine, which is not correct of course. Ben is right that the rivet and maker mark are never seen on genuine buckles. Also take a careful look at the eagle; you will see that same fake design on many buckles.
Sorry Alex, its a known fake mate, the makers mark is non existent, the single rivet fixing is wrong, the OLT prongs are wrong. At least it cost you almost nothing.
Ben
Thank You, Guys
sounds childish but well done indeed )))
Alex
No mate we are all here to learn mucker nothing childish at all
Ben
