Yes - cartridge pouch
No - never seen this maker before in relation to any belt buckle.
Actually, I have never seen a leather tongue stamping where there should be the grammatically correct inclusion of Umlauts, however, have been omitted. An odd one I must say.

David
Max Mueller (Max G. Mueller) certainly did exist. He was the father of a good friend of mine who lives near Nuernberg. Herr Mueller owned a leather factory in Nuernberg and lived in a house in nearby Fuerth which was destroyed by Allied bombing. I am afraid I cannot ask about the 'different' style of buckle attachment as Herr Mueller died in the early 1950's.
Note: In the absence of 'special characacters' Müller (letter u with an umlaut > ü = ue) should be written with the alternative correct German spelling: Mueller (phonetically: Mool_er) The spelling of Muller (phonetically Mull_er) is incorrect.
Many thanks for the info, I find that very interesting and an theory could be as a leather maker I wonder if he purchased buckles from nearby buckle makers and put his own tab on, there were several nearby, I must delve into this

I agree with Markus and as I said earlier, the buckle is a fake. Which in all likelyhood so is the tab.
