A 'Remembrance Medal' to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Kampfgruppen... the; 'working class fighting groups.' The medal is made of a light silver coloured alloy and comes in a quite good quality case. Click on (twice) to enlarge.

Nice medal, but ribbon bar is fantastic!

Now this is a great one, a very sharp medal! It has some nice ''depth'' to it, most other DDR medals have a very flat detailing.

Yes , the detail is quite crisp and stands up to enlargement very well. Even the kampfgruppe emblem on the sleeve of the tunic is detailed.

These are slightly heavier than most DDR medals of similar format weighing in at 26g.

Here is mine for comparison which I obtained in Berlin during 1989.

Sadly I only have the nasty plastic box for it and no Urkunde/Mappe.
