DDR Socialist Unity party banner

Another recent 'find' of mine is a Socialist Unity Party banner from the village of Cobbelsdorf in Saxony. I came across this being sold by a clothing recycling shop in Germany, and again it was at a bargain price. The banner is roughly 4' X 3'6" and is made of good quality cloth. Construction is double-sided with the centre motif being made up of panels of different coloured cloth. All lettering is embroidered and pole attachments are reinforced.

Looks look a good quality item Steve, a keeper i reckon as it must be a very rare item and as the years go by it'll be more and more collectible. I bet if you were to actually look for one of these it'd be bloody hard work!....

There are others on ebay, but they seem to be either printed - or lacking in the detail of this one... Plus the fact they are dearer too. I sent it to a 'specialist' cleaner - my missus, and she made a marvellous job of it.
