    Default DDRI marking on canteens

    Hi all!

Maybe someone knows what it means labeling "DDRI" on canteens and cups?
In this topic it is said about a similar marking on NVA visors:

    NVA date codes

With regards to dates, it should also be noted that in the very first years of the DDR, from around 1956, tunics and hats were often marked DDR/I or DDR/II referring to the first and second years of production
If I understand correctly, "I" or "II" means the year of release? (In this case, 1956).
Is this true, or am I mistaken?

    Best regards,Michael

I'm sure i read somewhere that DDRI or DDR1 was an acceptance mark used by the NVA from 1956 until the early 60s!.....
