Hello Danger,
Lovely helmet, great pick up!
The west German field cap seems to be for police, and the West German visor cap appears to be for Zoll (Customs).

Hi Joel,
Thanks mate.
Is there a difference between airport customs and land border customs visors?
I like the look of the police field cap, hope it fits my head but I doubt it.

Danger,
I don't think so, at least I've never seen a BRD visor for an airport customs official.

Hi Rene,
That's a bonus! Top quality I'm sure, and is a nice touch.
You're South African? My last name is Afrikaans - Mostert.
My Granddad is South African, my Dad is Welsh, and I'm a kiwi. Then my Son's are half Chinese.
It's a family tradition to take a foreign bride.
I also spotted the made in East Germany stamp for U.S import. Must've been shipped in the early 90's?
Wonder if it was ever issued?
Cheers,
Danger
