“Show me the regulation, and I’ll show you the exception.”
Amazing that DDR Headgear is being reproduced despite the massive amounts of original headgear on the market...The quality of original DDR Headgear was always low, but some of these caps are atrocious...Thanks for your hard work, Stonemint!

Hi, Like Glenn, I too am somewhat stunned to see so many fake DDR visor caps given the numbers that were churned out after the Wall came down!! I would like to thank you for highlighting this and for the research that you have undertaken and placed before the forum. Very well done!!!!
Best wishes Michael R
PS, do you have any idea where they are being made??? It would not be a surprise to find them being turned out in the former DDR??
Michael, they are coming out of Germany.
However, the "Stasi Generals" visor was sold right here in the USA. Complete re-work.

My first reaction was "Joke thread"...but it's not. Unbelievable!
Thank you Glenn Regards MR
Just for future reference: what exactly is wrong with this visor? Indeed, in 1961 the bullseye-cockade was replaced by the hammer-and-compasses and the coloured piping replaced by white - but it could be ok, right?
And, just to be clear: most visors shown in this topic are "real" - though not ok by the rules. For example: the visors from the 70's with bullion insignia are nice and original, it's just the combination that's all-wrong.
