ID'ing Camo Field Shirt

Hi all,

I'm still pretty new to NVA uniforms, I can't figure out when this uniform is from. It has the later green shade base Strichtarn, no holes for shoulder epaulets and a buttoned ring of fabric on the sleeve. Is this the model of jacket that was to be issued along with UTV webbing? (I've heard about the simplified rank insignia for late NVA uniforms).

Any help on this would be appreciated!

Hi there,

Yep, this is the field service jacket to be worn with UTV webbing. I don't know much about these but the later type size tag would indicate that it's roughly a post 1970 issue. I've heard that it's design took inspiration from foreign uniforms like the American battle dress uniform.

I understand these 4 pocket jackets were issued from the mid 80s.
