I bought two of them directly in Berlin, but the other two caps I mentioned above bought in Brazil and a friend said are false, but I'm sure are not. Thank you for your opinion.

I bought one of these a while ago just to see what the quality was like. It only cost £17 from ebay. I doubt very much fakers would be bothered to copy some thing like this which is so cheap anyway. They look to genuine to me.

I got these at the source in Germany in 1990, for instance, and yours look essentially the same.

Mr. Mint indicates that these are faked, which logic suggests, as the things are still sold a quarter of a century later in some locales.

I do not collect these things, other than I picked up what was around at the time. I was in the two Germanies a lot prior to October 1990, and then thereafter.

I do know a militaria dealer in Wittenberg, Sachsen Anhalt, whose name I can forward you.

There are people here who are specialized in this material, are there not?

No, I do not, in fact, but it is worth asking from someone who is specialized.
The DDR had a lot of this stuff, I saw it with my own eyes, of course, at the time.
I even bought it from NVA people who brought it to me in West Berlin in person.
Go find a specialist. I specialize in my black SS caps, and someone must specialize in these things.

Here is Mr. Mint's tutorial on these. I am utterly out of my depth. Of course, none of these is well made by the standards of the 1920s tnrough the 1940s,
so I am frankly unsure as to the facts.

I will leave it to someone who has the time and energy to trace it all down.

    Happy hats.

I more or less can tell III. Reich caps, mostly, but with the others I cannot, and would not pretend to do so. What I bought was of the time in the place, i.e.
    1989-1991.
