Other sources are talking from, about, 5.000 manufactured pcs. of the "KM 87", for example:

... Good to see the forces of the DDR were issued with a knife/bayonet.....Over the other side of the wall the BW never got issued bayonets, and I believe their fighting knife was a private purchase piece, is that correct ?

In Germany there´re bayonets, manufactured for the Heckler&Koch assault rifle.
As far as I know, they´re never were adopted as bayonet actually.

After the fall of "The Wall", the Bundeswehr adopted huge stocks of NVA bayonets as "Kampfmesser Schwer", but, not for use as bayonet !
These NVA bayonets were in use as utility knives only !

In the Bundeswehr the "Kampfmesser Modell 1968" was adopted, also, two pattern paratrooper´s gravity knives, also knives, used in other units in the Bundeswehr.

Hey, I dont see the knife itself, remove the packaging

I have a story, a former soldier mate invited me,because he wanted to show me an army knife, it was in the original sealed package, which I have never seen before, when I arrived, I was gonna say not to open it, but he was faster, he just tore the packaging apart immediately,and threw it into the garbage...he lost minimum 15% value by that action.

Day´s ago another "sealed" KM87 was sold for Euro´s 401,-- plus shipping.
IMO a bargain !

I think this knife worth it, only about 3000 produced, and at least 2000pcs is sleeping in Reiberts collection)
400Euro is a quiet fair price, where did you see it sold?
By the way, any news regarding the production lot size?
Still my 2799 Numbered is the highest serial number known by us?

Sadly I do only own five of those f.....g expensive KM87´s ...

I like the "mighty" sawback of this pattern bayonet.
