Odd shoulder rank boards

Hi,

I was mucking through old boxes of stuff trying to sort out my dispaly room, move some things along etc. While I don't collect TR anymore I did have decent luft collection 20 years ago. What are these? They were in an auction lot I bought years ago with other insignia. Never gave them much concern as I presumed they were post WW 2. But looking at some threads here I wondered if they might not be WW2 Luft tropical ones? If anyone wants them PM with an offer, otherwise they are heading back to the misc. box

These look like east german shoulder boards to me, not sure are what branch

They look like they could be for a transport Major.

The 'Russia Braid' that is used for the knot work does not look like TR. It looks loose and sloppy. The tongue for these slip ons is not right for TR either, no button hole, pointed tips, attached to the board in the wrong place. My guess would be East German. Maybe one of the more knowledgeable cats can fill you in better.

Those would be East German "Field" shoulder boards for the rank of Major. They were issued to all 3 branches for use in the field as they are a subdued color and lack any identifying waffenfarbe.
