A few bits of DDR paperwork. The dual language ID card was purchased this week. Maybe not worth much, but these small and interesting items help add to the overall picture of the era being researched. The baby hedgehog appeared out of the blue the day before yesterday, and then again yesterday afternoon. Mother nature is surely mixed up at the moment! Click on images to enlarge.

    Cheers,
    Steve

Interesting items. The history of post WW2 Europe is fascinating and well worth researching.

Glad to see you are feeding the hedgehog. The reason it isn't hibernating is because of lack of body mass. The poor thing would starve to death if it did. Probably a very late arrival due to our long summer. Probably will require human intervention if it is to survive the winter.

We had another earlier in the week, but that one looked unwell. It's body weight was only 278 grammes, and it needs to be around 410 - 420... So I packed that one off to the local hedgehog sanctuary. This one is eating well at the moment. I'll decide what to do with it in the next few days. We also have a squirrel that puts both front paws on the window and looks for my wife, when it see's her it taps on the window to attract her attention. Not that this has anything to do with DDR militaria... But maybe more interesting to some! 😤
