Thanks for the clarification, ... I didn't know the East Germans were the Nationale Volksarmee. Thanks for the education! Speakijng of the North Vietnames Army, ... where do you suppose they got their T-72 tanks and earlier models from? Russia or by way of China? I've never seen a captured NVA (viet) tanker's helmet so I wonder if the crew uniforms and helmets were ordered directly from Russia? Thanks again Ade!

Hi TC, the North Vietnamese Army did not get the T72 until 2005 and these came from Poland by which stage they were called the Vietnam People's Army.

Their earlier tank supplies, mainly T54's came from China.
