Czech Vz53 helmet
Got this a week ago for only $39.
I have a few pieces of Czech gear from the 50's through to a 70's field cap.
I was surprised at the large size of this thing,and interested to discover how the single metal liner band flexes to fit the head when worn,and then returns to a circle shape.
1954 dated and with the remains of a darker gloss green overpaint.
It has a stamp that looks like 1-72 also.If anyone knows what that means I would be very happy to hear.

Hi The I-72 is an inspectors/quality control mark. the large 2 next the the crossed swords stamp is the helmet shell size.
Nice one, I have to write that these make a "clang" like an ugly bell when struck!!well mine does.
Iconic cold war helmet, the first one I bought was in 1987 and it cost more than what you paid, three years later the world changes and it was a $10 helmet.
