Started my own Hungary collection, but finding it difficult to track items down - was in Budapest in August and visited the famous Ecseri fleamarket - was quite an experience, though most of the dealers seemed intent on selling me dodgy looking "WW2" third reich items and seemed to find it strange that I ignored such material and went straight for Hungarian items - and even more surprised that I knew what I was looking at - mainly from reading on here!

Anyway I doubled my Hungarian helmet collection in a day

very cool parade M1950s and M1935 fireman's (WW2 era) helmets!
also the second row: left: MP helmet (i'm guessing plastic, made in 1960s - 1970s) on the right and maybe a blue civil defense M1935 (WW2 era)

I also have 2 fireman's helmets like these - one of them has a complete liner & chinstraps - very hard to find these with a nice undamaged chinstrap...

Thanks Fabe - my late father-in-law being Hungarian and your posts have been my inspiration - I think the grey M1935B is a anti-aircraft crew helmet? with a later in-service repaint - both have liners, but incomplete chin straps - the first M1950 I bought had no markings inside, so when another came up fully marked and dated, I had to have it! The Military Police helmets I have seen up to now have been plastic (fibreglass?), but this one is a steel M1970. The final green painted M1935? I think is a post war re-issue - known as a Tildy helmet?

Would love a WW2 Air Raid Warden's helmet with badge as I have seen at the underground Hospital in Buda - but not seen one for sale anywhere!

    Update:

Very happy with this one...a rare Hungarian M1949 tankers coat and pants set (winter version) dated 1952 - with early light blue shoulder epaulets that they were using until 1954 - after that; black epaulets were used. Looks in un-used condition.
This is my second M49 tankers set, I posted it before - I have a 1955 dated set with black epaulets - so now I have both versions. I think these were used until the 1956 revolution...
These things are so rare, this is only the second full set (with pants) I saw in 4 years - I bought the last one also

Well, this thread of mine sunk like the Titanic in recent times, will try to get it back a bit with my second update in 3 days

    New item:

Also a rare item - a pre-1956 revolution dated Hungarian postal workers' coat - including his train-pass ID card, dated 1952. The coat is dated 1953 and it's in good condition:

...now I just need to get a matching hat for this - looks like this (also a rare item - which I saw just a few weeks ago, but I didn't get it, for I didn't know what it was...now I know.)

...and finally, a pic of a 1950's postal worker:
