Therefore the description of the seller is wrong, this is a cap of the 1980s.
But what about the cap? It predates the 1980s?
    Thank you

Nope - the whole thing is 1980s made - flip the leather liner - there could be an ink-stamp with date within a triangle. (if not faded)
Here is a police hat from the 1950s (Rákosi era):

I always disappoint me with Brazilian vendors, I imagined that the information passed on was false, but decided to buy because I thought very beautiful cap, but I paid $ 90 for it, that's too high?
    Thank you for your information.

yeah, 90 USD a bit high I'd say...
30-40 USD would have been ok

(keep in mind, here in Hungary these police hats costs around 10-20 USD, but of course ebay prices are always higher)

a bit of a good news: these summer hats are not that common and yours is in good shape.

PS: pre 1956 Rákosi police hats are VERY rare, only seen one in the museum - didn't see any for sale in my last 4 years of collecting - I do have a complete Rákosi era uniform, but not the hat.

Again thank you very much, your information is very important, I am very grateful.
In fact the Brazilians buy on Ebay and then resell in Brazil, so this increase of $ 40 over the price, but I confess that although not an original cap of the period mentioned by the seller was very happy, because it is a very beautiful cap . You have more caps, I would like to see some pictures.
Thank you for sharing these beautiful photos.
