I believe ones like this (with the swaz carefully removed) were used right after the war when the german police were working along side the GI's.

I agree with Warbuff. It was denazified for post war use. Most of the Police just continued being cops in post war Germany. Except for the one who were SS members.

I picked up one of these denazified Police buckles. I only bought it because it was on a very nice belt. I sold the tabbed buckle on EBay and was surprised it brought about 70-80% of what a non denazified buckle would have.
