Hey guys. Was hoping you could help with this black wound badge.

As you can guess, there are some questions to it authenticity.

Pebbling looks random and not are uniform as others and very little detailing on the wreath which I don't think is from wear. Additionally the top hinge on the back seems too low and the catch is odd as well.

Holding out hopes for my friend that this is real.

As always, any and all comments are welcome!!

    Regards,

    Michael

Looks like the catch might be damaged, I've seen 1 other example like this but it was never confirmed.

    Hello Michael,
Please take and post some better lit photos.
It is possible that this is an "Assman style, chaotic pattern" wound badge. If so, the maker may not be able to be identified, but could be authentic.
    Here is my example,
    Ralph.

    Thanks Ralph.

Unfortunately it's not mine. Posted this for someone else. I will see if we can get some better pictures.

    Thanks for the feedback.

    Ralph,

Please see the updated pictures in post #10 (from Chrisk). If you need closer shots let him know.

Looks similar to my untrained eye but with much more wear than yours. Big difference on the back is the pin and hardware placement.

    Thanks!
