Article about: The prices that hes asking for and the prices that dealers would charge tend to suggest that the seller knows more about these items than hes letting on, but as stated it all depends on the

All of the rewards that come in this box are claimed to be from one and the same person.
    He was a Oberartz that served in the 2 Batl./ Gren.Rgt. 688 & 4/Kos.Sich.Rgt.57.

The medals that come in this box are:

    - Ostvolker Erstverleihung In Silber
    - Tapferk.ausz.fur Angeh. der Ostvolker 1st. Klasse in silber
    - Iron cross 1st & 2nd class
    - Kriegs verdienste kreuz mit swerten
    - Inf.st.abz. in Silber

And all the documents that go with it.

It is offered as a complete set for 1295,- Euro's

I wondered what you guys think of this set, and what u make of it.

It is offered by a seller who in my humble opinion is not a specialist, and sometimes sells fake's for genuine prices.
Note that i think he does not do it on purpose, but i think he is to good of trust in some of his sources.
But i also have to say that i also have puchased some really nice genuine items from him to, so i do not wish to put him in a bad light.

On the items offered here i believe there are some nice possible genuine decorations in this set, but i do not think that the whole set is 100% right.

Sorry for the low quality pictures, but thats what i have so i hope it will do

From these pictures, without seeing the reverse of the badges, crosses, we can't tell you the originality.
But even if they were originals, its not worth 1300euro.

As the guys above have stated, the price is extremely expensive for this grouping. You could even say he is asking twice as much as they're worth - certainly not worth more than €750 at the very top when you break each item down to individual prices.
Please ask the seller to send you better photos of the front and back of each award and some decent scans of the documents. If he doesn't want to or won't reduce the price significantly - walk away.

I'll backtrack on my original post and say the price asked isn't quite as unrealistic as first thought. I've had a quick look through various dealers sites and found prices for most of the items pictured. With the prices in Euros they are as follows:

    Awards

    EK2 - 80
    EK1 - 180
    KVK2 - 30
    Infanterie Sturmabzeichen - 80
    Verwundetenabzeichen - 25
    Ostvölker 1kl Silber - 300
    Ribbonbars - 25

    Documents

    EK2 - 70
    EK1 - 150
    KVK2 - 40
    Infanterie Sturmabzeichen - 70
    Verwundetenabzeichen - 30
    Ostvölker 1kl Silber - ?

That gives a grand total of €1080 not including the Ostvölker 1kl in Silber document which I couldn't find an example of. So the price asked is only €215 more than the individual market price of all items except the above document which, given the price of the award, may be about right.

To be honest Nick, I had no idea how much the Ostvölker award was worth. They seem to range between €300 - €350 which was a surprise!

I think Adrian gave little high prices about the awards because they look all worn. The IAB lost all of its finish, and the EKI is not pefect too. We should see better pictures, maybe there are some rarer maker awards in the lot which would raise the value.

That's a fair comment. I tried to give average prices as opposed to the highest or lowest because until better photos are provided it's hard to give an exact value on anything. As János correctly points out the value can be affected either way by the condition and any possible makers marks - and of course, value is subjective and is down to the individual and what they're prepared to pay.
