Gold relic Verwundetenabzeichen? ........ or toned silver?

Hi all,
I have had this relic wound badge for years - bought as a silver version ( because of the pin ) and so it sat in my cabinet along with my other dug awards. Well this morning as the sun streamed in through the study window I saw it in a different light and a flash of gold was apparent - especially on the helmet above the swastika.

Is it?.... or just silver toned to a gold hue and I am dreaming of better things? ( never seen a gold version with a thin pin before )
