Well, I am in college and therefore very broke, so I am forced to find things that I can afford. Because of this my collection is a big mix of a lot of things. I don't recall ever paying a typical dealer price for anything. Thanks to my countless nights of searching for militaria, I have built up a network of collectors, websites, and local dealers who always provide me with bargains. It ***** that I can't afford the high-end items that I really want, but it makes the hunt twice as interesting.

A gold grade wound badge is 'high-end' to me ! - These normally sell
for between $150 to $300, and around $400 cased.

    $50 is a great bargain.........!
    Regards,

    Steve.

Any zinc award can absorb the finish it's given. Some makers worse than others. K&Q's are usually quite good quality. So once the zinc pest's treated (vaselined),it should be fine. Congrats,Stewy.

Thanks guys! It's good to hear that the zinc pest isn't too bad of an issue. I would hate to pick it up one day and watch it just fall into a hundred pieces in my hand.

Agreed, I paid through the nose for mine as I really wanted a mint tombak example, it looks nice in my display but I sure paid for the priviledge!
