named Verwundetenabzeichen im gold

Hi chaps, I've finally tracked down and bought a Verwundetenabzeichen im gold!
It has a name and date scratched into the back which I think reads Dieter Maxeinr. The date definately says 5 6 1944 although from the photo I took it looks like 5 5 1944. Anyone know how I could research this Soldat to see if his name comes up please?

It looks good Jay, an unmarked '30' I believe?
I don't know if this pic below will help any? You could also try a pencil rubbing on a piece of thin paper to try and decipher the name........

Cheers Adrian, yea I'm pretty sure I've got the name right after looking at it through an eye loupe. Would love to find out a bit more info about the man if thats possible with a name alone?

I messed around with the picture like you did Adrian and traced over the original scratches and this is what I came up with
