Thanks Ade. Although comparing hardware to ascertain maker is not an "exact science", as makers did not manufacture their own hardware.
Thanks Nic, I really love the design of the WB. I never really thought I would ever obtain a Gold, let alone an nice one like this one.
Thanks Nick, almost cannot believe it myself.
Thanks Rod, understatement of the year, mate!!

36 Bucks?? Now That is a Bargain! This maker is, like the Cadillac of Wound Badges. They are So beautifully made! Hauptmünzamt of Vienna made these things to last-no cheap zink to eat the gold coating here -these were made of quality tombak. Now all you need is to find a Case for it! (Look for a black one with the button on the front) What a great buy! Good job! William

Thanks Adrian, couldn't agree more especially when I'm the one getting the bargain. LOL
Thanks William, yes $36!! I could not believe my luck when I scored this beauty. Where do you suggest I look for a case?

Kai Winkler and Paul Hogle sometimes have them available, but I haven't checked them of late.It might take awhile, but I don't imagine there's much of a hurry-just keep checking their updates! Or email them with a want list. I'm sure there are tons of them out there Somewhere though, as so many German vets were buried with their badges-the boxes are almost never thrown away. No doubt there are many more excellent dealers too-maybe the others can suggest some one or have seen one? Good luck! William

Black cases with the button on the front are generally known to be for the Golds, whereas, the maroon cases were for the Silvers and the blues(or paper envelopes) were for the Blacks.

    Thanks William, I'll do that.
My silver LDO case is a maroon colour, albeit a bit salty.
