As a non Verwindetenabzeichen collector it looks fine for a Carl Wild Piece to my eyes but I'm sure a few others will chime in shortly.
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
It's a good one by Wild, they made several variant set ups of their wound badges, and this one is fairly common, the so called 'Big Hinge' type.
'I do not think we can hope for any better thing now.
We shall stick it out to the end, but we are getting weaker of course, and the end cannot be far.
It seems a pity, but I do not think I can write more. R. SCOTT.
Last Entry - For God's sake look after our people.'
In memory of Capt. Robert Falcon Scott, Edward Wilson, Henry Bowers, Lawrence Oates and Edgar Evans. South Pole Expedition, 30th March 1912.
Nice example ! Yes that is a big hinge!

Catch looks kinda messed up, perhaps from being yanked off a uniform?
I agree, original Carl Wild silver in decent condition other than the catch.

Searching for anything relating to, Anton Boos, 934 Stamm. Kp. Pz. Erz. Abt. 7, 3 Kompanie, Panzer-Regiment 2, 16th Panzer-Division (My father)
I'm guessing that whoever had it was kind of abruptly relieved of the burden of having to carry it around....A nice original SWB, in any case!
