    Hello!

A dealer send me a wrong badge into my order... Can I have some informations about this wound badge?
I did some research but came with nothing... except the maker name : Funcke & Brüninghaus

It is described as a replacement badge manufactured under the 3rd Reich. Very few pieces were made.
Is it possible? I don't know what to think about it, but if it's genuine, I may keep it, I like it very much!

    Thanks for your time

Hello Greg, These L/56 Imperials come in a few different varieties. The most common to be found will be the type shown in the following WAF link:

gold wound badge, fake? - Wehrmacht-Awards.com Militaria Forums

Then you have your design. I have a silver one of these, however mine is marked in the same position as the WAF example. Lastly there is the example posted by Ralph:

Possibly different contractors making the badges? Who knows? I have a few of these in the collection. Unfortunately I don't have the means to take a decent photo & I am not computer savvy. Hang onto this badge. It is ok.

    Regards
    Brett

Thanks for your reply and all the details! I will keep it
I didn't know there were remplacement badges for WW1 veterans! Very interesting!

    Cheers

Hey Greg, I get frustrated on occasion. I would love to post my own examples to prove a point, but I have to rely on links to show what I mean. A grade A computer dunce if ever there was one. Still, yours is a nice badge that you will only rarely find marked in this particular type.

    Regards
    Brett
