By just looking at the pics on this site I can certainly understand how you could come to that conclusion.
    Please explain.........
    Regards,

    Steve.

    Sorry Mortyr
By no stretch of the imagination is this "natural age". It does however
show all the hallmarks of "forced wear"! I dare say all you would probably
see under a 16X loupe would be abrasive gouges.

    Regards
    Brett

We don't even have to go into matters such as the artificial aging or the lack of markings, nor do we need a loupe to tell the item that started this thread is bad.

All three grades of the 20 July 1944 Wound Badge were made of silver. The helmet/swords, the laurel wreath and the reverse side were finished differentely for the three grades (respectively blackened, patinized with blackened details or gilt).

The central pebbled background field inside the wreath was silver for all three grades.

Which is not the case here.

For anyone wishing to persuade others a particular piece is real, perhaps instead of mere words, a photographic study putting forward your case is in order.
There are plenty of references and evidence here on the forum to conclude this badge is fake and does not conform to original pieces.
Maybe the owner can state his case as to why it is real.

    That one is 100% bad.

I have seen several originals, one last month in Germany and the quality shines through.

    Cheers, Ade.
do they all have an "800" mark somewhere on them?
