Verwundetenabzeichen in gold marked 30

Article about: Good morning! I hope everyone is doing well today. Considering picking up a GWB finally. I think this is a nice little buntmetal/tombak example with case. I'm not sure about the case as I do

William, you temptor! I have always admired the maroon cased silver wound badges. Now I know who makes them, and will probably set myself to taking up your challenge. It doesn't get much more fun than a new hunt, which now that I think about it tends to immediately follow an old hunt. We're never really done with our collections are we?

BTW, the seller told me this one was found in an office building in Norway back in 1945. That story is just boring enough to be true.

Nice badge - but I've said it before, the recipient would much preferred to have his eye or limbs back rather than exchange them for an old piece of metal .......... and I'm sure we wouldn't swap either ........

No bargain but still a good deal. You'd be waiting around forever for the 'perfect' deal so better of taking what you can when you can.

Thanks Ned, and thanks for all your help. It turned out to be a very nice badge and case I think. Now to find the SWB of its kind.

    A nice addition Scott!
I have been thinking of delving into a set of marked 30's recently also.

Thanks guys! I'm quite pleased with it. But, as usual I wouldn't have been able to make myself pull the trigger without the kind help and confirmation of you folks.
