    Gents,

This is my latest pickup - a black wound badge from maker 107 - Carl Wild of Hamburg.

I was dissappointed on missing out on all the items i was bidding on in the recent Ratisbons auction - most went way too high for me. High Seas Fleet Badge was €665 and another BWB was €201. And then you have to add on 17.5% buyers fee, 2.5% credt card/paypal fee + delivery.
As a consolation i picked up this BWB for £37 all in and i'm really pleased with it.

I did think of doing some sort of sympathetic restoration on the paint but then decided that would be a mistake so it will remain as is. I like the brass finish.

Carl Wild made badges and medals from 1901 to 1989 including TR items such as this out of a very small factory in Hamburg.

Franko / Jonas - i know you have similar badges. I hope you like mine.

    Regards
    Nick

    A very nice example Nick!
I believe that any attempt to "upgrade" the paint would be a mistake as well.
You can compare to my example in this thread.

    Thanks Ralph / Franko.
I really like you matching set Ralph - and of course i want to grab a silver and gold at some point - it would be nice if they are maker matched like this. Your post will be an excellent reference point for me.
